Bathing Costume Swap – Anyone can play – Make an Old fashioned Bathing Costume for Hitty with an adjustable back opening to fit a variety of Hitty sizes. There should be enough overlap to cover the back of a Raikes Hitty with 4 inch hip and waist measurements and the opening should be long enough for easy dressing, probably from hipline to neck or entire back. Bloomers should extend below hemline.
For inspiration look at the 1880 to 1910 ensembles at this page:

Please do your personal best work and something you would be pleased to receive.
May include 1 extra with the swap if desired but NOT mandatory… must be hand-made or hand-decorated, Hitty-scale, and related to the Bathing Costume eg hat, rescue ring, sand pail, etc
Please post photo(s) in July Swaps Folder of Hitty wearing the Bathing Costume at the beach once your swap is received (unless no camera available)
Please take photos of your own swap before mailing just in case.
Note: If you feel you would like to brush up on or improve your skills, there are a few sewing tips for your reference, and even if you are not an advanced sewing swapper, they might help you create a new personal best for yourself. http://www.hittygirls.com/swapperapp.html
There are also wonderful sewing lessons in the Hittygirls files, provided by our own Kathleen Weber:

If your bathing costume is knitted or crocheted, it should be lined if Hitty wood shows through when you try it on for size.
