Cut: 5--1" x 1" Dark 8--1" x 2 1/4" Light 4--2 1/4 x 2 1/4" Darks Borders: End Borders are 5 1/2" x 1 1/4" |
Backing: 81/2" x 7 1/2"
Note: the borders can be cut to fit length-wise, if your block ends up a bit small, which it might with so many seams. |
Press each step carefully.

Step Two: Assemble the 1" x 2 1/4" 8 Lights and 4 darks as shown. Makes four units. | |
Step Three: assemble units from Step One and Step Two plus the four 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 Darks, as shown.

Step Four: Add Borders as shown. |
To finish, center the batt and the top on the backing. You can hand
quilt, machine quilt, or tie off for a vintage look.
When finished with that, fold the backing up and around to the top. Fold raw
edges under, pin down, and sew the hem around.
